Creator Connections Transcend Borders
Yoshikuni is supported by people all over the world with the concept of "bringing the samurai to the world."
Models include Japanese, as well as Italians, Dutch, and other multinational individuals who cooperate across borders.
Similar to the models, Yoshikuni's video creative was also commissioned to overseas creators.
The video for the summer of 2022 was made by Andrew, a video creator residing in Ukraine.
By the way, Yoshikuni's videos are elaborate and are produced for EC sites, Instagram, and Facebook.
I asked Andrew to use the making-of video filmed during the recent model fitting as material, and to convey the charm of the T-shirt.
Since this was my first time commissioning an overseas creator, I was very much looking forward to seeing how he would express the individuality of the three samurai (Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and Akechi Mitsuhide).
And then the long-awaited video arrived.
Watching that video, I was surprised by the high quality of the calculated composition and color production!
It had a pop finish that captured the atmosphere of the shoot, and it combined the models' best shots.
The music selection was also unique, and the rhythm of the transitions was excellent.
What surprised me even more was the interview video explaining the creative intent behind the making-of video.
He very smoothly and clearly explained the production process, the definition of the video concept, and the reasons for choosing the music.
The latter half of the video also shares Andrew's thoughts, so it's a must-see.
As you all know, the war in Ukraine began in February, and civilians are also caught up in the conflict.
Even though I am in a safe zone, I cannot imagine their living conditions or mental state, soaking in lukewarm water here in Japan.
Watching this video, I hope there will be more opportunities for Andrew's expressive power to be utilized even further.
