With the dawn of 2024, we at Yoshikuni are thrilled to bring you some special news. The year before last, we had a remarkable encounter with Mr. Toru Sanada, the 14th direct descendant of Lord Yukimura Sanada, and that bond has now blossomed in a new form.

Mr. Sanada graciously collaborated with us on our latest initiative, the Joshu Sanada Project, and provided six pieces of his handwritten calligraphy, "Mui Shizen" (Effortless Nature).

muishizen

This phrase is deeply connected to the spirit of the Sanada family, embodying quiet strength and the importance of being in a natural state. When you purchase a Sukajan jacket, the handwritten calligraphy will be included with the product in an Isezaki paulownia wood box.

Our new Sukajan collection integrates Gunma's traditional Yokoburi embroidery technique with the iconic red-armored "Akazonae" of Sanada Yukimura, with each stitch embodying the figures who colored the Sanada family history.

This collaboration is more than just a fashion item; it's a fusion of culture and history, a bridge connecting the past and the present. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Sanada for his kindness.

Through these Sukajan jackets, we aim to breathe new life into the spirit of the Sanada family and share it with the world. We are proud to be a part of this special project and hope that you, too, can share in this emotion.

We eagerly anticipate sharing a part of this wonderful journey with all of you.

May the New Year be a wonderful one for you too.
