Inuyama Castle

Perched on a cliff overlooking the Kiso River stands Japan’s oldest surviving castle keep.
It is one of only five castles designated as National Treasures. Also known as "Hakutei-jo" (White Emperor Castle),
its form, having survived from the Sengoku period to early modern times, continues to captivate people even after more than 400 years.

About the Design

This work is a collaboration with Chris Glenn, a radio DJ and castle enthusiast.Inuyama Castle, when viewed from an angle, is often obscured by trees, and many details are not conveyed through photographs alone.
Chris's hand-drawn illustration brought its true form to life, significantly increasing the graphic's resolution.

The height of the stone walls is intentionally exaggerated so that the viewer's gaze is naturally drawn towards the keep.
While respecting the accuracy of the National Treasure, we aimed to maximize the impact of Inuyama Castle.
The design was perfected after meticulous adjustments, moving text by 0.1mm and rotating it by 1 degree.

We strived to create a work worthy of the phrase, "God is in the details."

Every time you pick it up, the castle's appearance changes.
That is the role of this phone case.
