Yoshikuni is an art brand that visualizes the "decisions" of samurai.
We don't merely adorn history; we question it.
We don't design samurai; we ask you, living in the present, to ponder the meaning of the decisions they made.
That is the raison d'être of Yoshikuni.

At the heart of Yoshikuni's work is his unique expressive technique, "Samurai Typography."
He depicts armored samurai warriors using only text.
Words carefully selected from a warrior's life, keywords woven into moments of decision, and the question, "Why did he choose that path?" By layering and assembling these elements into text, a single warrior emerges.
It takes about a month to create one samurai.
We delve into historical documents, confront the warrior's philosophy, and choose their words.
Not for a superficial "coolness," but to embody the meaning of that warrior's life.
It can be expressed in both Japanese and English.
This stems from the conviction that the samurai's philosophy is not unique to Japan.
誇りある者が纏う。
Worn by those with pride.
Those who have chosen conviction over calculation.
Those who strive to walk their own path, rather than follow the "right" answer.
Those who live each day with pride.

Became independent in 2009. Established Yoshikuni in 2021.
While working as a book and graphic designer, I am pursuing my life's work of "conveying the philosophy of the samurai to the world" through Yoshikuni.
