An exhibition that portrays Sengoku warlords not as heroes, but as figures embodying "doubt," "choice," and "resolve."

History isn't just about past events.
It's a record of people who made choices while lost, advanced while losing,
and still made decisions.
If you were in the same situation,
what would you choose?

These are not questions for "samurai." They are questions for us, living in the present.
会場で生まれた体験
作品の前で、会話が生まれた。
会場では作品を展示するだけでなく、武将の歴史的背景や制作意図を紹介する作品解説ツアーを行いました。
関ヶ原の戦い、本能寺の変、賤ヶ岳の戦い、大坂夏の陣。時代や合戦をたどりながら、一点ずつご案内しました。
歴史に詳しい方だけでなく、「戦国時代にはあまり詳しくない」という方も、武将たちの決断をご自身の仕事や人生に重ねながら聞いてくださいました。
作品の前で交わされた会話や、問いを読んだあとの表情まで含めて、今回の展示だったと感じています。
見るだけで終わる展示ではなく、自分自身と向き合うための展示になりました。
作品と、その問い
I was more drawn to the person who made a decision than the one who won.
It's not because they won that I'm interested.
I was interested in the human drama behind their decisions.
What did they believe in when they were cornered?
What were they trying to protect?
Why did they choose that particular decision?
I wanted to depict that human element.
Depicting warlords with words. Beyond that, depicting questions.
Beyond that, a question is posed.
The lives and philosophies of warlords are reconstructed into words,
and expressed as a single portrait through typography.
These works are not meant to teach history,
but to encourage self-reflection.
To everyone who has supported me, I will do my best to repay your kindness.
Since starting Samurai Typography,
many people have supported me.
Those who purchased my work.
Those who shared their thoughts on social media.
Those who visited the group exhibition last year.
That's why this time, as an artist,
I wanted to create a place where I could meet people directly, not just through a screen.
And one more thing: I want to share Samurai Typography
not just with Japan, but with the world.
I want people to feel the passion and atmosphere that can't be conveyed digitally
in this space.
Who were you like?
After finishing the work, I suddenly ponder.
Those who choose dreams.
Those who choose beliefs.
Those who choose what is right.
And a small part of myself is among them.
This isn't an exhibition to view history. It's an exhibition to reflect on oneself.
